Odisha: Lovebirds Found Hanging In Nabarangpur, Suicide Suspected

Umerkote: A couple was found hanging inside a house at Badakhadaka village here in Nabarangpur district on Sunday.

They have been identified as Tuleswar Majhi and Urmila Bhatra.

Sources said, Tuleswar, who was already married had eloped with Urmila and lived outside for some days. After long days, they returned home on Saturday.

They have also reportedly spent the day well. But, the doors of their room remained close till noon following which villagers broke open the doors only to find their bodies hanging from the ceiling of the roof.

They recovered the bodies and informed the police following which a team of cops reached the village and seized the bodies for post-mortem.

Villagers claimed that they committed suicide, fearing social embarrassment.

Police launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to their death. A case has been registered in this regard, police said.
