Paralakhemundi: In a shocking incident, bodies of a couple were found lying a pool of blood in a closed room at Ariba village under Gurandi police limits here in Gajapati district today.
The deceased couple identified as Sibal Dileswari (21) and Taluru Srinu (28) were in a relationship for quite some time. As the family members of Sibal reportedly disapproved their relationship and had arranged to marry her off, the duo reportedly committed suicide.
"Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide. But, it is yet to be confirmed. Exact reason of their death can be ascertained only after post-mortem. Inquest of bodies will be held in presence of magistrate tomorrow," said Loknath Behera, Sub-inspector of Gurandi police station.
According to reports, a deep cut mark was seen on the neck of the woman.
A team of police reached the village and launched an investigation by questioning the family members and neighbours of the couple.
