Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre has predicted light to moderate rainfall at one or two places in northern Odisha but ruled out possibility of heavy rainfall activity in most other parts of the State even in the presence of a cyclonic circulation lying over Jharkhand and its neighbouring areas.

Downgrading orange warning issued for several districts of the State on Thursday, the Met centre has issued only yellow warning for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Nabarangpur and Nuapada today.

“Under the impact of the cyclonic circulation that presently lies over Jharkhand and extends up to 2.1 km above mean sea level, few places of the State are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall,” informed the duty officer of Bhubaneswar Met Centre, Laxmikant Giri.

As the sea condition is likely to be rough along and off Odisha coast under the impact of the cyclonic circulation, fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea till afternoon today, said the Met Centre.

The weatherman has further said that there is no rainfall warning in the State for tomorrow but some places of the State might receive light to moderate rainfall.
