Bhubaneswar: Odisha Department of School and Mass Education launched a state wide career portal in collaboration with UNICEF on Thursday.

In order to get necessary information regarding career selection, the students can login to www.odishacareerportal.com. The web portal which has been developed in collaboration with Unicef will help in applying for the professional courses.

Apart from it, students can get details about the educational institutions and interact with concerned faculty members directly through the portal.

A mobile application has also been developed by the department to help around 17 lakh students of Odisha.

The site has been developed in Odia language for career guidance and hosts information about more than 550 vocational courses, utilizing which the students can obtain information regarding 2,62,200 colleges and vocational institutions in Odisha and beyond.

Students can also get detailed information about 1120 scholarships, competitive examinations and foreign fellowships.

Satyabrata Sahu, Chief Secretary of Mass Education Department said, "The primary aim of this portal is to guide all secondary and higher secondary students to their preferred vocational course.

Monica Nelson, The Chief of UNICEF Regional Office in Bhubaneswar said, "UNICEF will provide all possible assistance to students who aspire to move in to professional services after studies."
