Puri: Famous Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut visited Lord Jagannath temple at the Pilgrim Town on Friday morning and offered prayers to the Holy Trinity.

Senior servitor Madhusudana Singhari welcomed Ranaut on behalf of the Srimandir Temple administration by felicitating her with a photograph of the Trinity bedecked with the famous Suna Besha attire. The administration also presented the actress with the Mahaprasad.

Amid tight security, the Manikarnika actress offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple following Patitapaban Darshan. She also visited the Bimala temple, Laxmi temple and Kalpa Bata.

“I feel blessed on having darshan of the Supreme Lord. I pray before the almighty that the Newyear usher happiness in the world,” said Ranaut.

“Last year was not good for me. I am fortunate to have the darshan of the lord from the beginning of this year. I hope 2021 will bring good fortune for me and the whole world. I prayed before the Lord for the success of my upcoming movie Dhaakad,” she said.

Earlier, Kangana had expressed her desire on social media to visit the Jagannath temple in 2021.

“Kangana witnessed the entire Mangala Alati of Lord Jagannath very peacefully. She was very happy to get the darshan of the lord. She called herself fortunate and prayed before the Lord for the success of her next movie,” said servitor Madhusudana Singhari.

According to sources, Kangana had arrived in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. Since she is provided Y+ security and it was her personal visit to the 12th-century shrine, her itinerary was kept secret.

In 2020, Ranaut was embroiled in a series of controversies for many reasons from bashing Bollywood's bigwigs for nepotism to lashing out at farmers for protesting and Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

Kangana's next major project is Dhaakad, where she will be seen as a fierce and tough international spy as she embarks on an action-filled adventure with guns blazing.
