Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today granted bail to industrialist Mahima Mishra in connection with the murder of Mahendra Swain, the General Manager of Hyderabad-based stevedoring company Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited (SSLL).

Earlier, the HC had granted bail to Mishra in the case; however, it was rejected by the Supreme Court as the decision was challenged by the Odisha government. Subsequently, he had surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court in Kujang on September 18, 2018.

However, Mishra's had once again applied for bail which was granted by the High Court today. The HC said that a lower court can stipulate the conditions of the bail.

Mishra has already been granted in two other cases. Last year, on July 16, the Orissa High Court had granted conditional bail to Mishra in Cuttack Press Chhak bombing and Paradip Tarinigada firing cases.

Mishra, who is the founder and managing director of Odisha Stevedores Limited (OSL), was arrested from Thailand on December 25, 2016 for allegedly masterminding the murder of Swain in Paradip.
