Odisha in Voice: Shubham Pradhan makes AR Rahman sing for him, gets a hug
Mumbai/Bhubaneswar: Odisha boy Shubham Pradhan is the voice to look out for in national singing talent hunt show Voice on Star Plus. He not only made an impression on singer Adnan Sami who chose him for his team but also made music maestro AR Rahman dedicate a song to him.
As soon as Shubham began singing “zindagi kaisi hai paheli hai” from movie Anand, Sami turned around and chose him for his team. Shubham, who hails from Balasore, chose to sing the remix version of the number and was at his best in rendering the song with ease and style.
On being asked about the feel in his voice, Shubham opened up about some family issues affecting him which lends the pathos on to his renditions.
No sooner did he complete speaking that Rahman called him. “I want to hug you and sing a song for you” and immediately began to sing “Maa” from Rang De Basanti.
Though this is just the beginning of the journey for Shubham who was accompanied by his mother to the show, he certainly seems to be a bright star in the Star Plus show that began today. Voice will be telecast on Saturday and Sunday, 8 pm.
