Malkangiri: A group of youths in Malkangiri on Tuesday caught a woman selling fake Covid-19 medicines posing herself as an NHRM worker.

According to reports, the imposter health worker was reportedly selling some medicinal products in villages while claiming them as cure for novel-Coronavirus.

She was selling some tablets and syrup priced between Rs 500- 1500 to innocent villagers and claimed that they would prevent the virus from infecting human body.

When some sceptical local youths sought answers from her on the legitimacy of the medicines, she fumbled and could not give satisfactory explanations.

Bystanders at the spot were filming a video of the act, but the woman requested the youths not to shoot any video and revealed that she was being sent on the job by someone living in Jeypore.
