Bhubaneswar: In less than 24 hours after liquor was seized from the premises of Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital, Odisha Health Minister Naba Das ordered an inquiry into the incident on Sunday.

After giving an order for a probe into the matter, Das sought a report from Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Ajay Kumar Baitharu, within three days.

More than 20 wine bottles were found at the security room of the District Headquarters Hospital on Saturday night. The matter was brought to the fore following a media report.

The liquor bottles were later seized, and the CDMO directed the concerned officials to file a police complaint.

“It is very unfortunate. The incident has cast aspersions on the duty and character of the security guards of the hospital. The Additional District Medical Officer (ADMO) has filed an FIR. The police are now probing the matter. Stringent action will be taken against the guilty,” informed the CDMO.
