Bhubaneswar: In a bid to address lapses in rural housing schemes across Odisha, call centres will be set up for beneficiaries in each district.

In a letter to all the Project Directors of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department has directed to open call centres in all districts of the State.

According to sources, the call centres will provide support to beneficiaries of housing schemes and will seek feedback from them if bribes are being sought at any stage. The State government has directed these call centres to make minimum 50 calls per day to beneficiaries.

Speaking on the call centre service, Panchayati Raj Minister, Pratap Jena said, "After 5T model of governance, state government has decided to launch call centre service to reach out to beneficiaries. We will definitely take appropriate action in case of complaints."
