Bhubaneswar: Two days after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) eased certain restrictions under Unlock-4 that will be enforced from September 1 (tomorrow), Odisha government is likely to issue a fresh set of guidelines for opening up more activities in areas outside the containment zones. The announcement of State government is likely to be done this evening.

The MHA has clearly stated that States/UTs shall not impose any local lockdown (State/ District/ sub-division/City/ village-level) outside the containment zones, without prior consultation with the Central Government.

However, lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly in the containment zones till September 30, 2020.

Containment zones shall be demarcated by the District authorities at micro-level after taking into consideration the guidelines of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare with the objective of effectively breaking the chain of transmission.

Strict containment measures will be enforced in these containment zones and only essential activities will be allowed. Within the containment zones, strict perimeter control shall be maintained and only essential activities allowed, the Centre's guidelines mentioned.

Meanwhile, it is speculated that the night curfew in Odisha would be lifted in Unlock-4. All educational institutions in the State would remain closed till Puja vacation, the government had said.
