Odisha Govt starts paddy procurement

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has started paddy procurement from today from Atabira block of Bargarh district.

It was informed by food minister Sanjay Das Burma. The dates for the procurement from different districts have been fixed, he added.

Paddy Procurement Automation System has been introduced in 60 blocks of the state this year. Beginning from procurement to farmers' payment, all will be done through computer, he added.

Notably, such system was introduced in 10 blocks last year.
