Bhubaneswar: A BJP delegation on Wednesday met the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) accusing the BJD of violating the model code of conduct (MCC). The BJP alleged that the ruling-party has violated the MCC by putting Odisha government’s logo and website number in its manifesto for the ensuing polls.

The delegation led by Odisha BJP vice-president, Samir Mohanty apprised the CEO and presented a memorandum in this regard. This apart, a complaint has also been lodged by the BJP at Kharvela Nagar police station against the BJD over the alleged poll code violation.

"The model code of conduct is in force in the State, but the ruling-BJD violated it by displaying Odisha government’s logo and website number in its manifesto," alleged Samir Mohanty.

In response to the allegations, BJD Spokesperson Sasmit Patra said, "BJD manifesto is there in the party’s website. Have any of the BJP members seen the manifesto? If they know how to use the internet, they can visit the website and see what type of logo and which website number is used in the manifesto. They are habituated of telling lies and cannot give up the habit of making false claims."
