Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has dissolved the governing bodies or the managing committees of all non-government aided Higher Secondary Schools.

The decision has come into force with immediate effect except in the Higher Secondary Schools where Sub-Collectors or Additional District Magistrates have already been nominated as the president of governing bodies.

In case, a Higher Secondary School situated at the district headquarters, the additional district magistrate of the concerned district shall act as president of the governing body till further order.

In case, any district having more than one additional district magistrate, the district magistrate and collector shall nominate one additional district magistrate to act as President of the governing body.

Where Higher Secondary Schools are situated outside the district headquarters, the sub-collector of the sub-division concerned shall act as president of their governing bodies till further order, a letter of the School and Mass Education Department read.
