Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today accused the ruling BJD-led Odisha government of indulging in cheap politics by disrespecting Union Minister during his visit to the state for inauguration ceremony of medical college and hospital in Balasore.

Addressing a presser, senior BJP leader Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo alleged that on one hand Odisha government is accusing the Centre of negligence and on the other, it is trying to hijack central schemes by projecting them as State schemes.

Citing the latest incident, Singhdeo alleged that the name of Union Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey was missing on invitation cards sent to various people and dignitaries on the occasion of inauguration of Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Balasore today.

BJP leaders informed that the Centre has allocated 60 percent funds for the construction of five medical colleges and hospital in the State.

“At a time when the Centre is providing all necessary assistance, instead of being thankful Odisha government is not maintaining minimum courtesy,” said Singh Deo.

The senior leader of BJP stated that Odisha government did not provide ‘Y’ category security cover to Union Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey.

Meanwhile, the senior BJD leaders could not be contacted on such allegations levelled by the BJP.
