Cuttack: Passengers suffered as government buses stayed off roads on as many as 20 bus routes in Cuttack zone today after Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) employees launched a strike demanding clearance of pending salary of 3 months and other arrears.

According to sources, services of around 30 government buses were suspended due to the protest today.The employees have threatened to continue the strike till their demands are not fulfilled.

"Our main demand is clearance of pending salaries since April and also other arrears. We have not even received dearness allowance. Many employees are facing difficulty as admissions into colleges are underway. Some of us don't even have enough money to pay rent," said an OSRTC employee.

The OSRTC employees had planned to launch the stir on July 2, however, they decided to postpone it due to Rath Yatra, informed another protesting staff.
