Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today cautioned officers for allegedly threatening political leaders by asking them to depose before the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch.

Around four-five non-Odia officers are hatching conspiracy in the State, alleged Pradhan adding that political leaders are being threatened at the STF office.

During the ‘Mishrana Parva’ at the party’s State headquarters in Bhubaneswar, Pradhan stated, “Political leaders are being asked to depose at the STF office where they are being threatened. Earlier instances showed when officials, who had attempted to carry out such activities, had to go to jail. At present, if the concerned officials do not desist from such activities, the BJP will take legal recourse.”

He also appealed the Chief Electoral Officer to appoint special observers to keep tab on the CM’s grievance cell, police headquarters, STF office and two-four officers associated with the Chief Minister’s Office.

Responding to Pradhan’s remarks, BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra said as the model code of conduct in force there is no way the ruling party will influence the State government.

“Everyone knows BJP is a habitual liar. But Dharmendra babu should not speak so much lie that it becomes unacceptable,” stated Patra.
