Odisha: Gold Jewellery Showroom Owner Kidnapped In Balasore

Balasore: A businessman dealing in gold and silver ornaments of Attapur village under Soro police limits in Balasore district was allegedly kidnapped by his customer at Dandaharipur village here on Thursday.

The family members of Prahllad Mallick, owner of Shubham Jewellery located at Belada Chhak, have lodged a complaint about the abduction with the Soro Police on Thursday evening.

As per Mallick's family, he was called upon by one of his customers identified as Sumanta Kumar Mallick of Dandaharipur to visit the latter's house as he wanted to buy some gold jewellery.
Accordingly, he left for Dandaharipur village with 40 grams of gold ornaments worth over Rs 2 lakh on his motorcycle in the morning.

"I had called my husband at around 11 am over phone to know his whereabouts and he told that he was in the market and since then his number is switched off," said Gantilata Behera, Mallick's wife.

However, when he did not return home till late night, Mallick's family members sought the help of Soro Police. Later, cops visited Dandaharipur for investigation on the same night but could not find Mallick anywhere.

"I request the police to find out my husband as soon as possible," added Mallick's wife. Further investigation into the case is underway by the police.
