Odisha: Girl Killed, Youth Loses Leg After Being Hit By Goods Train

Jharsuguda: A girl was killed while a youth lost his leg when the two were hit by a freight train in Jharsuguda district on Sunday.

The mishap occurred near platform No 4 of Bagdehi railway station under Laikera police limits.

According to sources, the girl, Sufia Mahananda was crossing the railway tracks to reach platform No 1 from platform No 4 when the goods train which halted at the station started moving and ran over her. She died on the spot.

Roshan Mahananda, who was also crossing the railway station, lost one of his legs after being hit by the train. He was immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.
