Cuttack: A girl who went missing & was later rescued by Banki Police today brought serious allegations against the cops alleging that she was raped, but was tortured and pressurized by police to drop the charges.

As per reports, the girl was allegedly abducted by five persons and was raped by one of them in a field. Later, she was brought to Jatani Railway Station from where the miscreants were planning to take her to Surat. But somehow she managed to escape from the clutches of the accused and went to her uncle's place.

Subsequently, some cops allegedly brought the survivor to the police station where she was physically assaulted.

"I was dragged into a farmland by the accused and raped. Later, police thrashed me and forced me to change my statement. I demand justice and strict action against the accused," the survivor said.

However, Cuttack SP (Rural), Radhabinod Panigrahi refuted the allegations terming them as false. Panigrahi further said that the girl's statements have been recorded before the magistrate & investigation is underway.
