Baripada: A girl student has brought serious allegations of admission fraud against one of the clerks of Indira Gandhi Women’s College at Udala block in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.

The girl, Limimani Baskey, in her police complaint alleged that the clerk Manas Shankar Mohanty had allegedly taken money for her admission into the Plus II course in the college but she later found her name missing from the list of students taken admission for that particular academic session.

When Limimani turned up at the Plus II examination centre at the college on Friday, she found her name missing from the list of admitted students and she was not allowed to appear for the Plus II exam. Later, the girl apprised the college principal about the matter and filed a complaint at Udala Police Station, said sources.

“After receiving complaint of the girl, we have informed the higher authorities and police. They will take all the necessary action in this regard,” said principal of the college, Jayashri Choudhury.

Udala Police Station IIC, Sanatan Sahoo said, “We have seized all the documents in connection with the complaint. The accused clerk is presently absconding; we are trying to apprehend him as soon as possible.”
