Bhawanipatna/Keonjhar: Four persons including a five-year-old baby girl died in two separate road accidents in Kalahandi and Keonjhar districts on Thursday.

As per reports, three persons including a five-year-old girl lost their lives after a bike they were riding collided head-on with a bus at Dangariguda square under Golamunda police limits near Dharmagarh.

Though the identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained, the police has seized the vehicles involved in the accident and launched a probe into the mishap.

In another incident, a man lost his life while the bus he was travelling in turned turtle at Satakoshia ghat on Anandapur-Karanjia road in Keonjhar district. The mishap saw over 20 passengers injured from which six are reported to be critical.

The deceased has been identified as Sashidhar Das from Kantajhari village under Jajpur’s Korei police station. He succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at Anandapur hospital.

Sources said, the bus enroute Bhubaneswar from Karanjia lost its balance at the ghat and overturned with 40 passengers on board. Following the accident, fire fighters from Anandapur fire team rescued the passengers with the help of locals.
