Odisha: Fire Breaks Out At OPTCL Grid In Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A major fire broke out at OPTCL (Odisha Power Transmission Corporation) power grid near Meramundali in Dhenkanal district on Sunday.

The reason of fire has not immediately been ascertained. It is suspected that blast in feeder due to over heating might lead to the mishap.

No human casualty or injury has been reported so far.  Properties worth over lakhs were gutted in the blaze.

As many as 10 fire tenders from Odapada and other places were engaged to douse the inferno. The fire fighters took around three hours to bring the blaze under control.

Electricity supply has been disconnected to nearby companies following the mishap. According to reports, the power supply will resume after repair work is over.
