The woman constable posted at Kesinga Police Station has also alleged of mental harassment by Nayak.

According to the complaint filed by the victim at the Kesinga police station, the officer, who was earlier posted as Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) at Kesinga had married her in a temple. However, the officer allegedly refused to acknowledge their relationship and abandoned her. Following this, she filed a police complaint seeking justice.

“Nayak had married me before five years and promised a better life. However he tortured me physically and mentally later following which I was forced to lodge a complaint before the police,” said the victim.

The Superintendent of Police (SP), Kalahandi has directed the Kesinga police to conduct an investigation into the incident.

It may be noted that on July 1, Director General of Police (DGP), Abhay had dismissed former Biramitrapur police station in-charge Ananda Chandra Majhi for his alleged involvement in rape and forced termination of pregnancy of a minor girl. Majhi was arrested later.

Majhi was initially placed under suspension after the allegations of raping the 13-year-old girl for a period of over two months and later terminating her pregnancy forcefully surfaced.
