Odisha: Doctors Remove 30-Kg Tumour From Woman's Body

Nabarangpur: Carrying out a stupendous job, some surgeons of Odisha have successfully operated and removed a tumour weighing a whopping 30 kg from a woman's body on Sunday.

As per information, Phulmati, a resident of Raighar area in Nabarangpur had been carrying a huge abdominal tumour inside her body. Due to excessive growth of the extra mass, Phulmati went from pillar to post seeking medical advice and procedure for treatment before she met Jagdish Chandra Behera, a doctor at Koraput Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital.

Dr Jagdish advised Phulmati that she has to undergo surgery to remove the tumour.

After necessary arrangements, Dr Jagdish with the help of some other doctors Bhismajit Chhatria, Chandrasekhar Behera of SUM Hospital and Soumya Das performed the rare surgery on the woman at Sai Seva Sadan medical in Kuhudi area of Khordha district.

The doctors removed a gigantic 30 kg tumour from the woman's body after nearly 5 hours of operation.
