Odisha Doctor Arrested For Cheating Woman

Berhampur: A doctor in Odisha landed in soup after a woman with whom he had developed a relationship on social media levelled cheating and sexual assault charges against him.

The woman from Chhatrapur area in Ganjam district alleged that the doctor identified as Tapan Kumar Satpathy maintained physical relationship & exploited her by making fake promises on social media. The doctor is currently posted at Kantamal PHC in Boudh district.

The complaint filed by the lady stated that she entered into a relationship with the doctor in 2019 and developed physical intimacy. The lady alleged that the doctor maintained a relationship with her on the pretext of marriage though he was already married.

Following the complaint at the Mahila Police Station, the doctor has been booked under Section 376 and forwarded to court.

"After we received the complaint from the woman, we made the arrest yesterday," said Berhampur SP.
