Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay inaugurated another Cyber Police Station at the Cyber Complex here on Monday.

After the inauguration of the station, the total number of Cyber Police Stations in the state has increased to four.

According to police sources, the Cyber Police Station located at Cuttack will be operated from the new station at Bhubaneswar.

“Taking into consideration the amount of cybercrime cases in the State, the personnel of Odisha police don’t have adequate skills to deal with those cases. Their skills will be sharpened by providing them training through these cyber police stations,” Abhay said.

“At least one police personnel in every police station across the State should be equipped with adequate knowledge about cybercrime. We are taking immediate steps in this direction,” he added.

Odisha Police has already started discussion with National Police Academy for the training of the police personnel in the State.

“National Police Academy has a special cyber centre- National Digital Crime Research and Training Centre (NDCRTC). We are eyeing at least eight training sessions with the help of NDCRTC. It’s a great challenge for Odisha Police to investigate the cybercrime related cases. We are hopeful that the training will definitely help,” he stated.
