Bolangir: A Deputy Forest Range Officer in Odisha has come under Vigilance scanner for amassing massive wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

A team of the anti-corruption wing conducted surprised raids on the residence and other property of deputy forest ranger identified as Keshab Nayak in Bolangir on Thursday morning.

Acting on a tip-off, the vigilance officials raided five different locations including the current residence and the office of the deputy ranger.

Apart from that, raids are also underway at the forest official's houses in Sagarpada, Indra Nagar and Gupteswar Nagar.

Sources report that the anti corruption department is also searching the official's house in Majhipada village of Sonepur which said to be his paternal property.

A Vigilance official said that the raiding team has also stumbled upon disproportionate assets belonging to the forest official at other places but it needs further investigations to confirm.

As the raids are still underway, the exact value of assets amassed by the forest official is yet to be clear, the vigilance official said while briefing reporters here.
