Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 349 new coronavirus cases while six patients succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, said the Health department. With this, the Covid-19 tally rose to 321913 while the death toll in the State mounted to 1784.

Of the fresh cases reported from 27 districts, 198 are from quarantine centres while 151 are local contact cases, informed Information & Public Relations Department.

Khordha reported the maximum 44 cases followed by Angul (26), Balasore (23), Kalahandi and Bargarh (19 each), Jharsuguda and Mayurbhanj (18 each).

Meanwhile, the State health and family welfare department shared details of the six patients who died while undergoing treatment in hospitals. Puri saw death of two persons while Jharsuguda, Khordha, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh have registered one death each.

A 33-year-old female of Jharsuguda district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease and Hypertension.

A 56-year-old male of Khordha district.

A 37-year-old female of Puri district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

A 47-year-old male of Puri district who was also suffering from Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus.

A 55-year-old male of Sambalpur district who was also suffering from old case of Coronary Artery Disease- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention ST (2006).

A 30-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Acute Pancreatitis, Acute Kidney Injury and Chronic Liver Disease.

The State now has 3629 active cases while the cure count stands at 316447. As many as 32182 samples were tested in the last 24 hours via RT-PCR tests, TruNat and antigen-based taking the cumulative tests to 6214174 in Odisha.
