Bhubaneswar: The Covid-19 cases in Odisha continued its declining trend for the fourth consecutive day with 1913 cases in the last 24 hours. However, the death rate remained static with at least 15 persons succumbing to the virus in the State on Thursday.

With this, the Covid-19 caseload rose to 276094 which included 19932 and 254913 recoveries while the death toll mounted to 1196.

Of the new positive cases, 1109 patients are from quarantine while 804 are local contact cases. Three districts recorded over 100 cases with Khordha witnessing the maximum 254 cases followed by Cuttack 150 fresh cases and Angul 106 cases, as per the data by State I&PR department.

The Health department said while three deaths were reported from Angul and Mayurbhanj, two deaths each were reported in Dhenkanal, Khorhda (Bhubaneswar) and Sonepur and one death each from Cuttack, Puri and Sundergarh (Rourkela).

Official reports revealed that 40114 samples were tested on Saturday for Covid-19 taking the number of samples tested cumulatively across the State to 4199508.
