Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to add 100 plus Covid-19 positive cases for the second consecutive day on Saturday as 120 new cases were reported from across the State in the last 24 hours.

On Friday, the daily caseload had breached the 100 mark for the first time in the last 40 days when the total number of positive cases stood at 110.

Of the 120 positive cases reported on Saturday as many as 71 were from quarantine centres and the remaining 49 were local contact cases.

With 26 fresh cases, Cuttack saw the highest daily spike followed by Sundergarh (16), Mayurbhanj (15) and Khurdha district (14) in the last 24 hours.

As many as 71 patients had recovered duri8ng that period while the number of active cases stood at 754. The total positive cases have gone up to 338719 while 335994 have recovered so far in the State.

However, the good news is that despite the spike in the number of cases no fatality has been reported in the last 24 hours.
