Bhubaneswar: Cold conditions continue to grip Odisha with mercury plummeting below 10 degree Celsius in two places in the State in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest report by Regional Meteorological Centre, Phulbani remained the coldest place in the State with 8.8 degree Celsius, while temperature dropped to 9.0 degree C in Sonepur.

Similarly, the minimum temperature hovered between 10 to 15 degree Celcius in 15 cities of the State. These include Daringbadi (10.0), Angul (11), Talcher (12.3), Keonjhar (12.8), Jharsuguda (12.8), Koraput (13), Baripada (13.5) Sundargarh (14), Bolangir (14), Hirakud (14.3), Sambalpur (14.4), Boudh (14.5), Titlagarh (14.5), Cuttack (14.5) and Bhubaneswar (14.5).

Malkangiri recorded the highest temperature of 32.2 deg C during the day, MeT informed.

Meanwhile, dense fog occurred in Boudh and Sundargarh districts reducing the visibility to 50 metres and 150 metres respectively, added the Met centre.

Earlier, the Meteorological Centre had informed that the cyclonic storm 'Burevi', which is expected to reach near Pamban in the noon today and cross south Tamilnadu coast during December 3 night or December 4 morning with a wind speed of 70-80kmph gusting to 90kmph, will have no impact on Odisha.

All the districts will witness dry weather and there is large change in the minimum temperature during the next four-five days, predicted the Met centre.
