Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Congress today asked both the BJD and the BJP to prove that the data presented by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) chief, Rahul Gandhi during a public rally in Bargarh wrong.

Odisha Congress leader Panchanan Kanungo said that both BJD and BJP have shown political immaturity by alleging that the data provided by Rahul Gandhi at the public meeting was false.

“Let them (BJD and BJP) tell which data is wrong, we will provide a reply. It has become a concern that both the Centre and State governments are presenting wrong information,” said Panchanan Kanungo.

While addressing a public meeting yesterday at Bargarh, Rahul said farmers committed suicide in the district as both the BJP-led government at the Centre and the BJD regime in the State have failed to address the problems of the farmers. “Though PM Modi raised farmers’ issues in all his speeches, he is not committed towards waiving off farm loans,” he had said.

Similarly, Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik had promised to construct cold storages across Odisha and provide irrigation facilities to farmers. But he has also failed to keep his promises. Most of the youths from Odisha are migrating to other parts of the country in search of work as the State has become the nerve centre of unemployment, said Rahul while adding that there are 1.5 lakh government posts, 30,000 school teacher posts and 5,000 medical staff posts that are lying vacant in the State.
