Bhubaneswar: The Common PG Entrance Test (CPET)-2020 will commence from today and conclude on October 22. Around 62,200 candidates will appear the CPET-2020 which will be held at 26 centres across Odisha.

This is for the first time that a single entrance examination is being held for admissions into 14,700 post-graduate (PG) seats in different universities and colleges in the State.

There will three sittings per day of 1.5 hours duration each. The first shift will be begin at 10 AM and end at 11.30 AM, while the second shift will be held between 12.30 PM and 2 PM. The last shift will be held from 3 PM to 4.30 PM.

The examination will be conducted with all COVID-19 protocols in place. Separate (isolation) rooms have been prepared for COVID positive candidates or suspected cases.

The PG admissions will be conducted for 83 subjects and similar subjects (like general studies and women studies and others) have been clubbed.

Out of the total 100 marks, 70 marks will be based on entrance while 30 marks will be of career (10th, +2 and +3) scores. The State-wise merit list will be published on November 7.

Today, students will appear for subjects like- anthropology (arts), anthropology (science), geography, marine science (oceanography) and MBA courses. Entrance examination for Physics, LLM, Electronics and Telecommunication, and Commerce will be conducted on October 13.

Tests for Microbiology, Hindi/English, Zoology, Statistics and PMIR will be held on October 14 while examination for Environmental Science, Sociology, Life Science, Odia, Population Study And Philosophy on October 15.

Tests for subjects like Economics/Home Science, Geology, History, MBA (Rural Management)/Rural Development will be conducted on October 16 while Public Administration, Computer Science, MPH, MBA (Travel and Tourism) on October 17.

Exams for Botany, Education, Chemistry, Library And Information Science are scheduled on October 19 and Material Science, Sanskrit/Santali/Urdu, Mathematics, Linguistics, Journalism And Mass Communication tests will be held on October 20.

Students can appear for subjects like- Biodiversity And Wildlife Conservation, Yoga And Naturopathy, Bio Informatics, Political Science And Biotechnology on October 21 while the examinations for Women's Studies, Electronic Science, Psychology And Marine Science (Biology) will be held on October 22.
