Berhampur: In a bid to create awareness among residents of Ganjam district and dispel witchcraft and superstitious practices, district collector Vijay Amruta Kulange today announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for anyone who can prove the existence of ghosts.

“If anyone can prove existence of ghosts or justify superstitious practices, I will reward that person with Rs 50,000,” said Kulange.

Appealing everyone to refrain from superstitious practices, the Ganjam collector also asked to provide information on people who practice witchcraft so that action can be taken against them.

“There is a scientific reason behind everything which we have to make people understand. For that we have started a mass campaign including members of self help groups and students ,”

Citing that there has been a significant increase in number of such incidents in Ganjam, Kulange urged everyone to work together to tackle the issue.
