Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched 'Mo Sarkar' (my government) initiative and talked to some people to know about their experience in the State-run hospitals and police stations.
Launching the 'Mo Sarkar' initiative at the Capital Hospital and Saheed Nagar Police station here on Wednesday, CM Naveen randomly picked up names of some people who had recently availed services at hospitals and police stations and directly talked to them.
"I spoke to nine people randomly. The feedback was extremely satisfactory," Patnaik told reporters while lauding the new initiative launched under the State government's 5T (team work, technology, transparency, time leading to transformation) programme.
The CM spoke to people from Bolangir, Baripada, Jajpur, Malkangiri and Sundergarh districts regarding treatment at government hospitals and people from Nayagarh and Bhawanipatna regarding service at police station.
Under the initiative, people will get services in a professional and dignified manner, the CM stated.
The 'Mo Sarkar' initiative started from Gandhi Jayanti Day at all the police stations, 21 District Headquarters Hospitals (DHH), and at Cuttack, Berhampur and Sambalpur hospitals. Besides, it will be effective at all the DHHs of the State by October 30, and by March 5, 2020, all the departments of the State will implement the 'Mo Sarkar' initiative.
According to reports, as many as 8318 posts in the State Police department, around 2851 doctor posts and more than 16000 posts in the entire healthcare sector are lying vacant.
“The announcements of the Odisha government have been confined to pen and paper only. If initiatives are taken sincerely without any political motive, it will be fruitful,” said Union Minister Pratap Sarangi.
Senior Congress leader Sura Routray alleged that the government is not concerned about the people rather it is just fooling the people. Speaking on the allegations, BJD vice-president Debi Mishra said that the government’s ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative will help towards a more human interface; and it will further lead to development.
