Bhubaneswar: In a big boost to the industrial sector in the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 12 projects through video conferencing on Thursday.

Of the newly-inaugurated projects, eight are in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) category while four are large-scale industries.

As per reports, these projects have an earmarked investment of Rs 8,796.61 crore spanning across sectors that include health, steel, Information Technology, cement and food processing.

Some key projects inaugurated today include a cement grinding plant to be set up by Ramco Cements Limited at Haridaspur in Jajpur, a solar power plant by Aditya Birla in Bijepur, Bargarh and a seafood processing unit at Deras in Khordha.

As per government’s sources, these projects will cumulatively generate 7,090 employment opportunities.
