Bhubaneswar: Sprinkling a few drops of 5T in the House, Odisha CM and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has directed party legislators to be punctual in attending proceedings of the Odisha Assembly and take active part in the discussions.

As per the directive, by 11:30 AM everyday during Assembly sessions, party chief whip would inform Naveen about the attendance of the MLAs. Not only this, a four-member committee has been formed comprising Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Usha Devi, Amar Satapathy and Kishore Mohanty which will submit a detailed report every two months on the party developments. The Committee will decide the format of the report, sources said.

This apart, the CM has directed that the party MLAs who remain absent from the House for more than two days will now have to take his prior permission.

Interestingly, this time Naveen will personally review the capabilities of the newly-elected MLAs and has reportedly asked them to be more responsible in carrying out required duties.

"CM Naveen has appealed party MLAs to be serious about the Assembly proceedings and he has come up with a solution. The MLAs will spend maximum time in the House and see that every single issue concerning the common people would be discussed in the proceedings," said BJD MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.

Though Naveen also has said that the House will witness a healthy debate and participation of ruling-party MLAs on the issues raised by the Opposition, the Assembly was today adjourned by Speaker SN Patro moments after legislators of BJP and Congress trained their guns on State government over growing crimes related to women.
