Bolangir: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids at several places linked to the branch manager of Central Cooperative Bank in Titlagarh and Puintala panchayat executive officer (PEO) in Bolangir district on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.
A team from Bolangir Vigilance division conducted searches in the houses and office of Sagar Rana, the manager of Central Cooperative Bank's Lathore branch in Titlagarh, said reports.
The raids were conducted at several places including his residence at Boys High School Para in Titlagarh, in-laws house in Ghusara village under Saintala Police limits and his office in the bank.
In another graft case, the Bolangir Vigilance officials raided the house and office of Puintala panchayat PEO Biharilal Barik over disproportionate asset case. The anti-corruption sleuths conducted simultaneous searches at his residence at Santipada and office in Puintala, added reports.
The exact amount of movable and immovable assets unearthed will be known after the raids are over, said an official.
Earlier on December 30, the Vigilance officials raided property of Bibhuti Shankar Bindhani, an employee of WESCO (Western Electricity Supply Company of Odisha) in Bolangir district for allegedly amassing wealth beyond his known sources of income. Searches were conducted at his residence and office near Circuit House in Bolangir.
Similarly on December 29, a four-member team from Sambalpur vigilance division raided the house and property of Sudhir Nanda, account manager of Bolangir central cooperative bank for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. Cash, jewellery, land relate documents and other valuables were recovered during the raids.
