Bhubaneswar/Puri: In a major decision, the state cabinet on Thursday cleared a slew of beautification projects for Puri, setting aside Rs 461.25 Crore for the same.

As per a press release by the Works Department, Government of Odisha has taken a decision for construction of Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre, Market Complex and Shree Setu along with extension of Musa River in Puri on Turn-key basis under Augmentation of Basic Amenities and Development of Heritage and Architecture (ABADHA) Scheme.

The State council of ministers has approved the lowest negotiated Turnkey Tender of NCC Limited amounting to Rs.461,25,00,000.00 (Rupees Four Hundred Sixty-One Crore Twenty-Five Lakh) only for execution of the above work. The work is targeted for completion within a period of 30 months.

Similarly, the Government has also decided to alienate government land and acquired/ purchased land for "Heritage Security Corridor around Shri Jagannath Temple, Puri" in favour of Shri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee, Puri.

Another press release by Revenue and Disaster management Department stated that, the land will be alienated on free of premium, incidental charges, annual ground rent and cess and to transfer the record of rights (ROR) in the name of Lord Shri Jagannath, BijePuri, Marfat-Sri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee.
