Balasore: As Odisha gears up to witness the bypoll to Balasore Sadar and Tirtol Assembly constituencies, political parties have intensified their campaign and leaving no stone unturned to woo voters.

Star campaigners of all the three major political parties in the State- BJD, BJP, Congress- have almost camped in the two constituencies and are reaching out to people with their respective agendas.

Balasore Sadar seat is seen as a fight for prestige for the saffron party especially as late BJP MLA from the seat, Madan Mohan Dutta's death necessitated the bypoll, and the party has fielded Dutta's son Manas Dutta as its candidate for the seat.

While campaigning for Manas, BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi today said that the people of Balasore are with the BJP candidate and they will definitely give the party one more chance to fulfill the developmental dreams of their late MLA.

"The BJP is a party that works for people everyday and stands with them always. Though around 50 MLAs and Ministers of the BJD have camped in Balasore in view of the bypoll, it will have no impact on the voters. People have already decided that they will vote for their late MLA's son," said Sarangi.

She also lashed out at the Odisha government and said that action is being taken against general public and the BJP for COVID-19 violation while everyone is silent about such violations by the ruling-BJD leaders in the State.

On Tuesday, the BJP's State unit president, Samir Mohanty had said, “People of Balasore are well aware of the domineering attitude and misuse of the local administration by the BJD to win a seat. And that’s the reason they had voted the BJP to power in the Assembly constituency in 2019 general elections.”
