Berhampur/Keonjhar: One person killed while 31 others got injured in two separate road incidents in Odisha on Tuesday.

At least 17 labourers were injured after the tractor, carrying them, overturned near Rajpur area in Patrapur of Ganjam district. Of the injured, five persons were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur after their condition deteriorated.

However, one of the labourers succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

In another incident, 15 passengers sustained multiple injuries after a passenger bus overturned in Keonjhar district on Tuesday.

As per reports, the bus carrying 40 passengers was en-route to Champua from Joda area when it overturned on NH-20 near Kalika Prasad area.

Though the exact reason behind the accident is still unclear, it is suspected that the bus turned turtle after the driver lost control of the steering wheel.

Following the incident, a massive rescue operation was launched by police with the assistance of local residents.

All the 15 injured were subsequently admitted to Champua hospital. Doctors at the hospital said that some of the injured will be discharged after primary treatment.
