Bhubaneswar: Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari on Tuesday presented the State budget 2020-21 in Odisha Assembly.

This is for the first time that Odisha switched to digital method to reduce printing of documents for the budget. Over 700 big trees were saved in the State’s bid to present a paperless budget. Pujari claimed that the overall cost for printing of budget documents has reduced significantly.

Key Highlights:

-Odisha increases MLALAD to Rs 3 crore; Rs 441 crore proposed for the purpose in the budget

-A budget of Rs 70 crore allocated to IPICOL for organising Make In Odisha Conclave in 2020

-Madhubabu Pension Yojana gets Rs 1,718 crore; Rs 928 crore outlay proposed under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)

- Rs 50 crore allocated for the development of Samaleswari Temple & Hirakud dam in Sambalpur

-Fiscal deficit is estimated to be 3% of GSDP for the year 2020-21: Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari

-Rs 3,962 crore allocation proposed for PMAY Gramin and Biju Pucca Ghar

-State government allocates Rs 3,250 crore outlay for rural water supply and Rs 2000 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission
