Bhubaneswar/Kathmandu: Making a mark at the 2nd Kathmandu International Taekwondo Championship 2018 held in Nepal, Odisha's Ehsaas Hota has brought laurels for the state by winning two gold medals at the event.

As per sources, India bagged three golds, two silvers and one bronze at the championship and being the lone athlete from Odisha in the 60-member Indian contingent, Ehsaas alone bagged two golds in the 54-kg men's category.

India's Abhishek Yadav and Nepal’s Dikshya Thakuri were adjudged the best men's and women's player of the tournament respectively, and both of them received a cash award of Rs 50,000 each.

The main focus of the championship, organised by United Taekwondo Dojang with support from Nepal Taekwondo Federation, was to provide maximum international exposure to the athletes of around 12 countries.

Meanwhile, based on the performance at the International level, Ehsaas has been named for the trials for selection to the Asian Games to be held in Thailand in the last week of June this year.
