Bhubaneswar: Based on the subject of widows of Varanasi and Vrindavan and their problems, Odisha-born producer Jitendra Mishra’s movie ‘The Last Color’ is in now the race for the Oscars as an entry in the Best Feature Film category.

Directed by celebrity chef, Vikas Khanna, “The Last Color” has already grabbed limelight with the heart touching story. The movie, which is yet to be released in India, has been screened at 50 international festivals and has won 12 international awards.

Veteran actress Neena Gupta, the protagonist in the film has touched the hearts of the audiences for which she has won the best actress award, informed Mishra in an exclusive interview to OTV.

“The movie is basically about a widow who wants to play Holi, the festival of colours. It carries a social message and advocates for women rights,” said Mishra.
