Bhubaneswar: Ahead of their upcoming Foundation Day on December 26, Naveen Patnaik-led ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) aims at strengthening their party further in the State.

According to sources, the party has decided to give more responsibilities to the newly elected members and enroll more members in the grassroots.

“A political draft will be prepared in our executive body and State Council meeting. To execute those strategies the responsibilities will be given to the newly elected members,” said BJD vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra while addressing a press conference in the Capital City on Sunday.

“The party will also chalk out a strategy to collect members from the grassroots levels in all the districts across the state,” added Mishra.

Speaking to media, he said, “Prior to the foundation day celebration the executive body meeting of the party will be held on December 20 at the party head quarter. It will be followed by the State Council meeting on the next day.”

“Political and economic scenarios across the State along with some other issues will be up for discussion in the extended State Council meeting,” said Mishra.

According to sources, all the MLAs, MPs and members of the State Council will be present in the meetings.
