Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today demanded arrest of BJP leader Sarada Pradhan for allegedly attacking a man in his house and vandalising house furniture at Nayapalli in the Capital City.

A group of BJD leaders and supporters today met Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi and submitted a memorandum regarding the incident.

The ruling party in the State also requested the Commissioner to give special attention to all pending cases against Pradhan at different police stations.

Sarada Pradhan had allegedly accompanied Upasana Mohapatra to capture a house where a businessman and his family were living.

As per the allegations, Pradhan led a number of youths to the house and vandalised furniture. "Now, he is talking morality. We demand immediate arrest of such a person having criminal antecedents," BJD spokesperson Lenin Mohanty said.

On the other hand, State BJP president Samir Mohanty reacted to BJD's allegation. "The BJD is trying to terrorise us by implicating our party members in false cases. The party will never afraid of such threat. We will face that," Mohanty said.
