A notification in this regard was issued on Wednesday asking all its employees including the retired staff to submit the name of their spouse with date of birth and photo copy of Aadhaar card on or before March 10, 2021.

It is pertinent to mention here that, it has been a long pending demand of the employees to provide them pension and retirement benefits. The employees of the BDA spearheaded Odisha’s fight against Coronavirus during lockdown and helped make the government's schemes reach the doors of the downtrodden.

Apart from their role in managing COVID induced lockdown, they have been on the front of the Smart City Project that brought laurels for Bhubaneswar in the past.

The announcement was hailed as a game changer for the development of Bhubaneswar as the employees are expected to work more meticulously to implement governmental plans in the smart city.
