Bhubaneswar: For the first time after a gap of seven months, the daily COVID-19 tally in Odisha dropped below 100 on Tuesday.

As per I&PR department, the State reported 99 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, almost 12 days after the daily positive tally slipped to below 200-mark.

Of the 99 new cases, Sundergarh district reported highest 20 positive cases and followed by Khordha (14). 17 districts in Odisha reported new COVID-19 positive cases in single digits.

Here are the details:

Angul (6), Balasore (7), Bargarh (3), Bolangir (1), Boudh (1), Cuttack (8), Dhenkanal (1), Ganjam (1), Jajpur (4), Jharsuguda (1), Kandhamal (1), Mayurbbhanj (3), Nuapada (8), Puri (4), Rayagada (3), Sambalpur (9).

With 99 new positive cases, the COVID-19 tally in Odisha reached 3,34,529. The total active COVID-19 case load in the State now stands at 1286.

The Health & Family Welfare Department today congratulated the health workers for their tireless efforts in containing the outbreak of COVID-19.

“Happy to share that after a long fight of over 7 months, our daily new positive cases have fallen below 100 for the first time since 6th June 2020. All credit goes to the tireless efforts of our Covid Warriors,” tweeted Health & Family Welfare Department.
