Bhubaneswar: The Assembly Wednesday passed The Odisha Appropriation Bill, 2019 allowing the state government to withdraw Rs 1,46,061 crore out of the Consolidated Fund to be used during the 2019-20 financial year.

The bill moved by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari, was passed by a voice vote. Earlier on Tuesday, the House had approved demands for grants for different departments which were collectively put to vote and passed by applying guillotine.

The government had earlier passed the vote-on-account for four months till April, 2019 in view of the general elections.

"Today's budget is full-fledged one for the entire 2019-20 financial year," Pujari said adding that the total budget amount is Rs 146061,09,32,000.

The Finance minister said since the state's coastal districts have been devastated by the cyclone Fani that hit the coast on May 3, 2019, the provision has been made in the budget to provide livelihood support to the affected people.

He said the priority has been given to farmers, youths, women, children, dalits, tribals, senior citizens and other weaker sections.
